Willow Lake Campground

Willow Lake Campground was somewhat of a late addition to our camping plans for 2017. A member of my Facebook group RVing in Canada announced that he and his wife had purchased a campground near Woodstock, ON. I was already looking for a campground close to where our daughter lives in Kitchener to celebrate her and her husbands birthdays in July. Willow Lake fit the criteria and I was anxious to visit yet another new park while lending support to a fellow camper turned campground owner!

For us, Woodstock is a relatively close drive from home with traffic issues mainly on the Red Hill Parkway and the Link. Other than minor slowdowns on those roads, it’s usually a nice drive.

When we arrived at the park, we were told our site had been upgraded to a larger pull thru. It was a good thing, I doubt we would have fit on the original one! The quality of our site was very good. It was level with a nice pad and the hookups close by.

Friday night we enjoyed the company of Harry & Liz, RVing friends we me through my Facebook group RVing in Canada. They booked the site next to us for the weekend. Saturday our daughter and son in law came out to stay the night. We had cake and drinks around the campfire. Our RVing friends Albert & Diane also came out to visit as the park is so close to their home in Woodstock. I’m sorry I didn’t get more photos of our company but I think I was just too busy enjoying the company lol.

We were really impressed with Willow Lake and would consider seasonal here if it were closer to home. A seasonal campground has to be close enough for us to commute to work and well, Woodstock is just a little too far.

Willow Lake was so clean and so well run with lots to do! There’s a pool, rec hall and always some activities going on at the park. The weekend we camped here was superhero weekend and many were dressed up in costume, including Mark and Melanie, the owners!

Here are some photos of the park:

I would absolutely recommend Willow Lake Campground as a clean, quiet, friendly place to stay with great customer service. I can’t say enough about how welcome Mark and Melanie made us feel!

The sites do vary, but the pull thrus are not private. Some of the back ins looked a little more private but to us, that’s not all that important. All the other great things about this campground out weight the lack of privacy in our opinion. If you’re looking for some where to camp in the Woodstock area, give Willow Lake a try. I doubt you’ll be disappointed! Here’s a link to their website:
