GRAND BEACH PROVINCIAL PARK – JULY 2007
We camped at Grand Beach Provincial Park in Manitoba, for about six days in July 2007. At the time, we had our Prowler Hybrid, the first trailer we had bought. This was our final destination on our trip around the Canadian side of Lake Superior. Our site was a nice pull thru with lots of shade. The park itself was very clean and nicely kept. The only down side was that we arrived at the park the same time as the may flies!! Yuck! While we camped here, we visited the museum in Winnipeg, Forks district, St.Boniface Cathedral and the Assiniboine Zoo. Here are some pics of our daytripping:
Grand Beach was a really nice park, but honestly, we couldn’t understand why the beach was rated one of the 10 best in Canada. The water was so murky we couldn’t find our daughters bright red T-shirt that she lost in shallow water. The weather was very nice the entire time we were there and to help keep cool since we didn’t swim at the park, we made use of a great little waterpark really close to the campground. A little pricey, but a nice treat. Here are some more photos of the campground itself:
