Bronte Creek – Campers Halloween

Last October we tried something a little different – Campers Halloween at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. It sounded like such a cool thing we just had to go! It was the first weekend out with our new Durango 2500 fifth wheel which was a pretty big deal for us! We arrived on Thursday night and Dave commuted to work on the Friday. There is more than one “Campers Halloween” event at Bronte so we chose the second one, which is the second last weekend of October. That was the weekend I had off of work.

Our campsite was large enough to accommodate our new fiver, fortunately. I had booked it 5 months earlier when we still had our 32 foot Spree! It was a fairly easy back in and semi-private surrounded by all kinds of scrub brush.  Here’s a photo of the campsite we had located in the  “Prairie Campground”.

It turned cold on Friday with a heavy frost in the morning. Our furnace ran most of the night and most of Friday too. I went for a walk around the campground and enjoyed the fall colours. Very pretty!

On Saturday, we decorated our campsite for Halloween! I couldn’t believe all the work campers put into their displays! It was unbelievable the props that some people had. I don’t know who won the competition in the end, but it was a lot of fun! We had quite a few kids trick or treat at our campsite and went through a lot of candy. A great time was had by all I think despite the rainy, cool weather that moved in during the day. Here are some photos of our decorated campsite!

It was a great weekend out with a great group of camping friends. We enjoyed ourselves very much! We’re hoping to camp this weekend again in 2016!
