PINERY PROVINCIAL PARK – JUNE 2009

Our second trip in June 2009 was to this beautiful park on Lake Huron. We camped in the Riverside campground which was nice but not very private. The comfort stations were clean as was the campground itself. We paddled on the Old Ausable Channel and watched some spectacular sunsets on Lake Huron. Dave and I hiked the Nipissing Trail which was nice, but watch for the poison ivy. In fact, Pinery must be the perfect habitat for it because it’s everywhere. We took a day trip into Grand Bend as well. The beach there was amazing!
