First time out in almost two weeks! We’re headed to a brand new park – Highland Pines Campground in Guelph for a three day weekend! Yippeeeeee!!!! Our site is a large, grassy corner one with three way hookups. I’ve been looking forward to visiting this park since I booked it back in February. Looks like there’s lots to do including kayaking on Lake Belwood and some mountain biking just to name a couple things. We’re expecting friends to visit us too over the weekend, which is an added bonus!
I confirmed the campfire ban is still in place. Not much rain recently in the Guelph/Wellington area. I actually considered getting a propane fire ring, but just couldn’t justify buying one for the few times we’ve had fire bans in the ten years we’ve been RVing. We always find something to do into the evening hours even if it’s sitting under the awning having drinks and talking, stargazing, or going for long walks around the park.
It’s been a busy couple weeks at home and at work for both of us and I can’t tell you just how much we’re looking forward to relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. This trip will be a nice way to end July and ring in August, which will also be a very busy travel month for us!
We have three parks booked in August. Our first trip out will be a long weekend at Aaran Lake Resort near Allenford, ON, then we return home for two days and head out again on our long journey East to Northern New Brunswick! We’ll stay at Sugarloaf Provincial Park in NB, then park it at Glengarry Campground in Lancaster, ON for a couple days on the way home.
July has gone so quickly! It’s been a great month and we’ve visited some awesome new parks so far! The summer seems to fly by so fast! Safe travels to all you camping warriors and I hope you’re out enjoying this long weekend!
